How does the air quality forecast work?

AirVisual's air quality forecasts are generated by using machine learning, a subset of Artificial Intelligence, technologies. These predictions are derived from factors such as historical information, weather trends, wind movement, geography, human behavioral patterns and current air pollution readings in surrounding areas. By recognizing trends in past conditions and outcomes, AirVisual computers are able to predict future conditions. All of this information is provided on the device’s screen -as well as on our free app and website - so that users can plan ahead and optimize your well-being when outdoors.

How does the PM2.5 sensor work?

The AirVisual Node/Pro uses a light scattering laser sensor for PM2.5 measurements. How it works is that within the sensor's measuring 'chamber', a laser light beam is shone onto particles, and this light is then irradiated in all directions from these particles (scattering). A light detector (or 'photometer detector') then measures all of this scattered light, and from this, the sensor can calculate the concentration of particles within the chamber. In this way, the sensor is able to detect near microscopic particles ranging from 0.3μm to 2.5μm. The sensor in the AirVisual Node/Pro also has a small fan to ensure a constant flow of air through the measuring chamber.
Each reading reported from the sensor is calibrated by a special algorithm which takes into account external temperature and humidity values.

Unity Concord International School Closure Policy - ENG/THAI/KOR/CHN

The following procedures will be put in place to address the poor air quality; Unity Concord International School will notify parents and staff via line, Facebook and dojo by 6.30am if the school will close for the day. If the AQI is over 400 and increasing the school board of directors will issue a notice. If the AQI is over 500 school will automatically be closed without question. If the AQI goes over 400 during the day while students are present in school we will remain open and not send students home. Unity Concord International School will control the air quality, indoors, as much as is possible with our air filtration systems. Unity Concord International School will monitor the AQI inside classroom with meters throughout the day. โรงเรียนจะยึดตามาตรการดังต่อไปนี้ เพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาหมอกควัน :

AQI가 500 이상인 경우 학교는 자동휴교 합니다. 학생이 학교에 출석한 후AQI가 400가 넘게 되면 조퇴 하지 않으며 정상수업 및 하원합니다. 본교는 공기 청정기로 가능한 실내의 공기를 깨끗하게 유지하도록 조절할 것입니다. 또한 하루 종일 AQI 측정기를 통해 교실을 모니터 할 것입니다.
